Gionee, the Guangdong-based smartphone manufacturer has launched a premium smartphone Gionee M2017 featuring a massive battery of 7000 mAh capacity. The device starts at a base price CNY 6,999 (approx Rs 68,000) with the next version priced at CNY 16,999 (Rs.1,66,000) coming with an Italian custom alligator leather back panel.
The gadget features a 5.7-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) AMOLED display with 2K surface screen and a curved edge with a sapphire glass. Gionee M2017 is powered by Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Amigo 3.5 UI. The device runs on a 6GB RAM and has a massive storage capacity of 128GB/256GB with no expandable storage option.

However, the most important aspect of Gionee M2017 is the battery capacity of 7000mAh that combines two 3500mAh batteries inside and comes with Jin Li intelligent power management system along with support for Quick Charge 3.0. The device has a standby time of 915.42 hours and has a video playback time of up to 25.89 hours. On the Camera front, the gadget has an 8MP selfie camera in the front and a dual-camera setup with 12-megapixel + 13-megapixel lens at the rear end.

The connectivity options on the device include 4G, GPS, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. Similar to Apple iPhone 7 this smartphone doesn’t feature a headphone jack, but only sports a USB Type-C port.
The device weighs 238 grams and has dimensions 155.2×77.6×10.78mm. The smartphone comes with a textured back for a premium feel and sports a fingerprint scanner in the front. The device is available in colour variants Black and Gold. As of now the device is available only in China and the global launch date is unknown. The device was open for pre-booking on Gionee’s website and is fully booked within few hours.
