IRCTC now launches Flight booking app

Date:

IRCTC, the state-owned ticket booking portal has launched a mobile app to buy the flight tickets and makes it simpler, speedier to book lowest available fares. Users have to download the IRCTC Android-based mobile app IRCTC Air from Google Play Store, and they can use their existing IRCTC login credentials to login to the app.

IRCTC charges Rs. 10 per PNR and users can book seats to a maximum of nine passengers on one PNR through net banking. On the otherhand, if tickets are booked through credit cards, the app charges processing fee of only 1.8% of the total amount. Cancellation refund is processed within 30 days. Users can also book tickets for holidays under Leave Travel Concession(LTC)

As reported by TOI, Dr A K Manocha, Chairman and Managing Director at IRCTC said: “We have gone a step further to provide the facility on Android-based mobile sets. Our server is very fast, and tickets can be booked for both domestic and international destinations round the clock,”.

Of late, the railways subsidiary has been taking several measures to improved user experience. One such measure announced last month is upgrading the waitlisted passengers to Air India tickets in case of availability at zero or a little extra cost. The app also promises 24/7 customer support. This app from railways competes with established players like Cleartrip, Makemytrip, Yatra.
