Xiaomi Mi water purifier might come to India soon

Smartphone, power bank, LED lamps, Smart TV and now Smart water purifier. Xiaomi, the Chinese Smartphone maker taunted as Chinese Apple doesn’t want to restrict itself to Smartphone segment only.

Hugo Barra, the vice-president of Xiaomi in his facebook post said, “This is a product we’d LOVE to bring to India soon — Mi Water Purifier. Just announced today, it makes tap water drinkable with Reverse Osmosis (RO), is super compact, shows real-time water quality, and reminds you on your smartphone when it’s time to replace the filter.

The Mi TV 2S is priced at USD 483 and USD 644 for a ‘Theatre Edition’ which includes a sound system.

Developed by Yunmi Technologies the Mi Water purifier is priced at 1,299/- Yuan or Rs 13,279/-  in China. The purifier uses Reverse Osmosis (RO) to purify water, which is the same process used for bottled pure water filtration, desalinization, and medical water.

Mi Water Purifier Specifications:

The Purifier contains four filters — a cotton filter, two activated coconut carbon filter, and a RO membrane. While the first filter cleans sediment, rust, and other such purities from the water, RO membrane filters heavy metals, bacteria and other organic matter from water, while the carbon filters reduces s discoloration and odor, and also improves the taste .

The purifier can be controlled through Smartphone app. Installed app gives real-time data on the purity of the water, and also reminds you when it is time to change the filters. The Smart water purifier is not only portable to use but is also 8times effective than normal water purifiers.
