The Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is assuredly one of the most awaited smartphones of the year. However, not much has been revealed by the South Korean company.
The Note range always follows the design cues of the main Galaxy flagship devices released earlier in that year, so it is quite apt to say that this year’s phablet will echo the design of the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. The two devices rumored to be ‘in testing’ are expected to have a ‘flat’ screen of the S7 and curved screen of the S7 Edge with identical hardware specifications in all.
Earlier SamMobile confirmed that Galaxy Note 6 will be water resistant with an IP68 certified body which withstands submersion in one and a half meters of water during half an hour. This would make the Note 6 Samsung’s first true water and dust resistant phablet.
Galaxy Note 6 to have Iris Scanner?
Samsung has filed trademark applications for “Samsung Iris” and “Samsung Eyeprint” with trademark numbers 015439681 and 015439714 respectively. It is pertinent to note that Samsung had imported iris cam equipment to India in two batches in the month of April 2016. While fingerprint scanning technology is deemed to be a safe way of protecting handsets, iris recognition technology is better than fingerprint recognition systems.

10-nanometer LPDDR4 6GB mobile DRAM was launched in 2016 Samsung Mobile Solutions Forum in Shenzhen, China. It is likely to feature in the Galaxy Note 6 first when the handset launches in the later year. Grapevine is that the Note is believed to run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and 6 GB of RAM making it the first smartphone to run on 6 GB of RAM. As per SamMobile, the Note 6 is rumoured to have USB Type-C port, reversible connector and all.
Other rumored specifications of the Galaxy Note 6 include a QHD AMOLED screen, the new Snapdragon 823 processor, 4,000mAh battery, a 12-megapixel camera.
