Nintendo till last year was sceptical about releasing its world famous characters on platforms other than its own PlayStations. However in July this year, Nintendo debuted smartphone gaming space by releasing Pokémon Go. A location-based augmented reality game Pokemon Go was developed in association with Niantic. Pokemon Go which was an instant hit in no doubt prompted Nintendo to release more games of its world famous characters.
