Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone maker is all set to launch its latest flagship smartphone Mi 5 in India. The launch event is scheduled in New Delhi later on Thursday. India is one of the major markets for Xiaomi and with this launch, India will be one of the first markets for Xiaomi Mi 5 outside China. The flagship smartphone is available in three variants in China. However, it is still unclear if Xiaomi will launch all three variants in India.
Xiaomi Mi 5 features:
Xiaomi Mi 5 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor coupled with Adreno 530 GPU and features a dual sim (nano) support and a 5.15-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) with curved 3D Ceramic glass, along with a pixel density of 428ppi. The Mi 5 comes with a 3000mAh battery and supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. Quick Charge 3.0 is 20 percent faster than its predecessor, the Quick Charge 2.0. It sports a 16-megapixel Sony IMX298 camera sensor with phase detection autofocus and LED flash. The rear camera also sports 4-axis OIS (optical image stabilisation) and sapphire glass protection lens. The flagship smartphone supports 4K video recording and a 16 GB rear camera and 4-UltraPixel front camera. Both cameras feature a f/2.0 aperture. It measures 144.5×69.2×7.25mm and weighs 129 grams. Also onboard is a USB Type-C port. Connectivity options include VoLTE support, NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/ac, 4G, Bluetooth 4.2 and Glonass. Mi 5 comes with Android 6 operating system with MIUI 7 skin and weighs 129 grams.
Xiaomi Mi 5 standard edition features 32GB inbuilt storage and 3GB of LPDDR4 RAM is priced at CNY 1,999 (nearly Rs. 21,000), while the prime version featuring 64GB inbuilt storage and 3GB LPDDR4 RAM is priced at CNY 2,299 (nearly Rs. 24,000), and the pro version featuring 128GB inbuilt storage and 4GB LPDDR4 RAM priced at CNY 2,699 (nearly Rs. 28,000).
Mi 5 flagship smartphone was launched by Xiaomi at MWC last month. The first flash sale of the flagship smartphone in China on 2nd March saw nearly 17 million users showing interest on the device, and as per reports nearly 4 million units were sold on first flash sale.
